At the end of a trip it becomes harder to match the appropriate wheelchair. The children's wheelchairs are long gone and we are left with basic adult chairs. Paul, the work shop manager often makes wooden CP chairs for children as well as woodern static standing frames.
With this in mind and not having a suitable chair for the child they were working with, the team had the initiative to use one of Paul's chairs with one of the basic wheel chairs. This chair was attached simply to the wheel chair and padded cushions were added. This seemed to work really well and the beauty of the idea is that Paul in the future could assess the children requiring the woodern chairs and make them, previous to a KCF visit.
This idea is still only in its earliest stage but it shows how the therapists and team are constantly striving to assist as many clients as possible.
